What insurance is included when renting a car in Bogotá?
Full coverage insurance is added to the daily rate and equals 10% of it. It covers 80% of the vehicle's value in total loss, partial loss and theft, and includes 24/7 roadside assistance. How does rental car insurance work in Colombia?
Every vehicle in Colombia carries SOAT, which covers injuries to people but not damage to the car. The rental's full coverage insurance handles the car: 10% of the rate, covering 80% of the vehicle's value if it is lost or stolen, with the remaining 20% (the deductible) taken from the security deposit. The deposit is paid when you pick up the car and returned 12 to 15 business days after you hand it back. Liability coverage varies by vehicle and is written in the contract.

How does car pickup work at Bogotá airport?
We hand the car over at Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado, International Pier, level 2, exit 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Outside those hours we still deliver: we arrange it on WhatsApp with your flight number, and if the flight is delayed we wait for you. Can I rent a car at Bogotá airport with a license from another country?
Yes, as long as your passport and your license are from the same country. In Colombia a valid foreign license is accepted for tourists and people in transit for up to 6 months (Law 769 of 2002, art. 25) and no International Driving Permit is required. If your license is not in the Latin alphabet, bring an official translation.
